MI Safe Fish: Simple, authoritative fish-consumption guidance for Michigan

MI Safe Fish, from Michigan State University, is a straightforward mobile app that provides Michigan fish-consumption advisories and guidelines (by species and location) to help users make safer eating decisions; it’s authoritative and useful though fairly basic in features and presentation.

In this review, the app presents selected concepts and tools from the MI Eat Safe Fish (ESF) Guide, developed by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The text and many illustrative images are retained from the ESF Guide, preserving the source material's structure and visual presentation.

Development support was provided by a grant from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, part of the National Institutes of Health, awarded to Michigan State University (Grant P42ES04911).
